I want to restrict my users' home-directories. I know there are two
options to do this (UserSpace and DirSpace restrictions), both of which I
think have advantages and disadvantages. For UserSpace there is the
problem of our helpdesk sometimes moving homedirs around and becoming the
owner of the moved files (so they are not counted for the user's
restriction anymore). For DirSpace restrictions there is the problem that
this cannot be set at creation of the user (with a template). For both
problems I know there are solutions (JRB, Homes), but my question is: Are
there any performance reasons why I should prefer the one above the other?

One think I think is an advantage of UserSpace restrictions on the
volume, is that tools like iManager and ConsoleOne have an easy way of
listing these.
