The user, “mgm-support” is a trustee of the root. For years now this
account has been able to change access rights from windows explorer both
from Windows 98, Windows 2000 and Windows XP. However, over the past two
weeks something has happened. On a specific (Traditional) volume of a
6.5 server the XP account refuses to change access rights. The error
message I receive is, “Failed to add trustee…..You might not have
sufficient rights.” I do not believe this is a user or rights issue,
as “MGM-Support” can change access rights when logged into Windows 98,
but not XP.

I ran dsrepair and checked trustee rights with volumes and there were no
errors. Where should I look now?

Thank for the help,
