I have an issue with a user who is not getting their home drive mapped to
them. They are getting the following error upon login:
LOGIN-LGNWNT32.DLL-430: The following drive mapping operation could not be
The error code was 8804.
The symptom and the cause are exactly as stated in TID 10019518: If the
username is over 8 characters it will truncate. In this case, the username
of DERINSTALL was truncated to DERINSTA. Therefore, the users home drive
does not map. I've also applied the fixes as stated in this TID, but no
luck with this. Due to the fact that we are running various scripts with
this user ID, we cannot change or shorten the username or home drive name.
Does anyone have any clues as to why this isn't working?

Other info that may be of interest, we are running the latest Client 32
with the latest patches, and we are on a NW 6.5 Sp2 network.
