Occasionally, I will find a situation where a Mac user will change a
file, and the file is then permanently tied up. Monitor will show the
file is open but not locked by connection 27, or whatever, and that
connection is one of our Mac users. It is impossible to clear the
connection. Attempting to do so simply produces no results. This can
be after the Mac in question has been shut down. The only way to clear
the connection and free up the file is to reboot the server.

There has gotta be a better way, whether preventing the problem in the
first place, or an effective way of clearing that connection.
