I am still new to Novell so please bear with me on this one.

We have Novell 6.5 SP 6 as our NOS. This is a problem that has just
occurred within the past four hours and it has me perplexed.

When a regular user logs into the computer, they get the following:

Drive F: = WHEATON2_DATA:
Drive H: = WHEATON2_DATA:USERSusername
LOGIN-LGNWNT32.DLL-430: The following drive mapping operation could not be
completed.
[ROOT P:=WHEATON2DATA:PUBLIC]
The error code was 8804.
Drive L: = WHEATON2_DATA:LOGIN
LOGIN-LGNWNT32.DLL-430: The following drive mapping operation could not be
completed.
[ROOT S:=WHEATON2DATA:SPUBLICPUBLIC]
The error code was 8804.

Upon doing some research, I read that it can be an issue with licensing,
server needing a reboot, not enough space, or a permissions issue.

Licensing isn't an issue since we have an unlimited license. The server
was rebooted with no abends or abnormalities.

Spacewise, we have 500KB left on the SYS volume and over 200 GB left on
the DATA volume.

As for permissions, I'm not too sure on that one. When I look at
inherited rights, all I get is a bunch of letters instead of what rights
are coming from upstream. This is when I right-click on the folder and go
into properties and rights. I'm suspecting it is a permissions issue
since as an admin, all the drives map like they should but as an user,
they don't.

The only thing I changed permissions on, though, was a file within a
folder I didn't want the users to use. I gave it admin permissions only
(the file that is). I don't think it should have affected the folder the
file was in nor should have it affected the other folder the user would
normally map to. Also, the user can map to a couple of drives but not the
others.

This is all strange to me since I'm used to the way Windows does
permissions and whatnot.

Thanks for any help,

Kevin Butler
