For those who use Arcserve and Tape Libraries, and buy a new one from HP. Here is a little gatcha I just had to struggle through. First, here is my environment: I have a Dell OptiPlex 280 (yea I know, but $$$$) running as my Arcserve 11.1 SP3 server using NW 6.5 SP5+ with an an Adaptec 39160 SCSI card. Previously, I had a DELL 132PV Tape Library and just replaced it with a HP MSL2024 Tape Library system with two ULTRIUM 920 tape drives. When I rebooted the server with the new Tape Library attached, NW and Arcserve would only see the Tape Drives, no library. When I ran a "List Storage Adapters" command, this is what I saw:

************************************************** *********************

I first went into my SCSI adapters BIOS set-up (CTRL-A at the SCSI device Configuration option) and changed the SCSI Device Configurations for Device IDs #4, #5, and #7 (these were the ones used by my system. Check yours.) and changed the BIOS Multiple LUN Support settings to "YES". After rebooting, my BIOS was able to "see" the Tape Library system and the Tape Drives. However, Novell still didn't see the Library. After struggling a while trying HP and Arcserve support, I stumbled across the referenced TIDs and added the following to the "STARTUP.NCF" file.

************************************************** ***********
#Novell TID 10070253 use a set statement before any of the drivers load
#If you are using the multipathing option at the NetWare level.
set multi-path support=on
LOAD ACPIDRV.PSM
######## End PSM Drivers ########
LOAD IDECD.CDM
LOAD IDEHD.CDM
######## End CDM Drivers ########
LOAD IDEATA.HAM SLOT=10015
LOAD IDEATA.HAM SLOT=10016
#Novell TID 10070499 To expose all failover paths
#and devices to NetWare the following driver
#parameter (/ALLPATHS) needs appended to the
#LOAD command line
LOAD ADPT160M.HAM SLOT=201 /LUNS /ALLPATHS
etc. . . .

After rebooting my server, I found the following after issuing the "List Storage Adapters" command:

I am now able to see my Tape Library and touch my tapes. Such a deal. I'll let you know if the backups work tomorrow.
