I've downloaded the Netware 6.5 90 day eval and can't get it to install.
I am an experienced Unix/Linux admin. I have never touched NetWare.

Equipment:
A Dell PowerEdge 2800. I have 2 73GB drives and no RAID controller.
Nothing else is terribly special about the system.

Here are the steps I have followed.

When I first boot from the Novell 6.5 OS CD I am first promted with-

'I' - Install a new server
'C' - Create a boot floppy

I have booted from the floppy created from the CD and done an 'fdisk \x'
and deleted all partitions on my hard disk. I then used the fdisk utility
to create a primary partition that is 2048MB. My computer restarted.

Now when I do an fdisk I see-
Partitions on 1st hard disk (8032.4 Mb, 1024 Cyle\inders):
No Drive Start End MB Status Type
1 C: 0 260 2047.3 A PRI DOS
--- 261 1024 5985.1 FREE SPACE

I ran the command 'format c: /s /x' - suggestion from page 28 of
the "Novell Netware 6.5 Overview and Installation Guide." When I change
to the c: drive the only file that is there is command.sys- I don't know
if this is what is expected or not. Should there be more files on the C:
drive at this point?
I also find it strange that I have a 73GB drive, but fdisk tells me it is
an 8GB drive. I'm guessing this is just how DOS sees the drive- I'm not
too worried about this.

Now I go through what I imagine should be the installtion procedure:

THEN MY SYSTEM FLASHES THE FOLLOWING SCREEN:

THEN MY SYSTEM FLASHES A SCREEN THAT LOOKS LIKE A LARGE MATRIX OF
NUMBERS, BUT IT GOES TOO FAST FOR ME TO GET ANYTHING FROM IT.
THEN IT GETS CAUGHT IN A LOOP OF DISPLAYING THE PREVIOUS SCREEN FROM
ABOVE AND BEEPING AT ME EVERY 5 SECONDS.

What am I doing wrong?
