I am preparing for a hardware migration from NW6 to NW6.5 (OES). The
source server is a Pentium III 1.13 GHz with 10,000RPM SCSI Ultra160 drives
holding approx. 30GB of partially compressed data.

The Migration Wizard documentation says to use the fastest workstation
available for the migration. Where is the bottleneck, since I have two
desktops to choose from. The first desktop is a Pentium 4 3.8GHz w/ a SATA
hard drive and 1GB of RAM. The second is a Athlon 64 3500+ w/ a SATA II
RAID0 container and 1GB of RAM. Doing benchmarks on the two systems, the
Pentium has a higher CPU rating, but the Athlon 64 has better memory
bandwidth and higher disk bandwidth.

Using the Migration Wizard 8.0, does the client machine represent a
bottleneck in the migration? Or do I choose CPU performance over RAM /
hard disk performance?
