We have a NW5.1 server, soon to be a NW6.5 server that is 192.168.1.2
with the next hop of 192.168.1.1 (our cisco pix). DHCP provides the
default gateway to clients of 192.168.1.2 which means client Internet
traffice all goes through the server then to the pix.

We are adding a 2nd NW6.5 server to the tree, 192.168.1.11, in the
testing of the upgrade, it provided 192.168.1.2 as the default gateway
during install, which we changed to 192.168.1.1.

We have seen other installations have 192.168.1.1 as the default
gateway, not one of the NW servers.

Questions: What is the proferred gateway in this setup, 192.168.1.1
directly or to pass through one of the NW servers. What are the reasons
pro and con of either method.

Thanks. Cliff.
