I have just upgraded 2 Compaq DL330 G2 servers to nw65 sp5, NSS5A, OS5a.
One server was upgraded from nw5.1sp8 the other nw65 sp2 now on both
servers when I try to copy files or just access files from a client the
utilization jumps to 75-100% and speed drops to a crawl, in Imanager the
thread that seems to be eating the proc is NBI.NLM so I made sure both
servers had the latest flash and reran the CPQ PSP to make sure I had the
latest drivers. When mounting the traditional volumes they would take over
5 min to complete mounting (50GB . After this didn't work I converted all
the volumes to NSS volumes with VCU the only affect this had was to allow
the servers boot faster. I tried backing the NBI.NLM back to the sp2
version and that didn't seem to help at all. A file copy of 30MB will take
between 8-12 min. I have remarked out everything that is not necessary to
run the servers in the autoexec.ncf. These are single proc PIII machines
with 1.5GB of RAM.
