I'm trying to install OES 6.5 on a new server (Acer Altos R720) which
doesn't have a floppy drive & can't get Install to read the drivers from my
USB flash drive.
Acer's install guide for netware says you need to load their RAID driver
onto a floppy and use a USB floppy drive to install it in place of the
netware MEGA_SAS driver during the install process.
Since I don't have a USB floppy drive, I'm trying to use a USB flash drive
instead.
When the Installation starts & gets to the languages selection prompt, I
can Alt+Tab to the system console screen, load edit.nlm and browse to
D:\RAID where the drivers are located on my USB stick and I can see the
drivers (a .HAM & a .ISS file).
If I type VOLUMES, I get
A: -> NO NAME - BIOS Device
C: -> NWLOCALVOL - BIOS Device
D: -> NO NAME - BIOS Device
E: -> NO NAME - BIOS Device
Y: -> NO NAME - RAM/Virtual Device
Z: -> NO NAME - BIOS Device

By the time I get to the part of the install where I have to load the
drivers , I specify D:\RAID as the path to the unlisted driver and it says
No Storage Driver drivers were found at this path.
If I type VOLUMES at the SYSTEM prompt at this stage, I get:
A: -> NO NAME - [V100-A104-D2:0] USB Flash drive 34CD (USB)
C: -> NWLOCALVOL - BIOS Device
D: -> NO NAME - BIOS Device
Y: -> NO NAME - RAM/Virtual Device

If I try to load the driver from A:\RAID, it can't find the driver there
either.

I've also tried creating an empty DOS partition as C: & copying (from a CD)
the drivers to C: prior to starting the install and then tried to load the
drivers from there (ie C:\RAID), but it still says that No Storage Driver
drivers were found at this path (C:\RAID\).

Am I doing something wrong, or do I need to buy a USB floppy drive perhaps?

I'm using 6.5-SP5 install media.
Cheers,
Ian
