We have a customer with a NetWare 6.5 SP4a server with Backup Exec (tm)
9.1.1158.4 for NetWare Servers English installed.

The server is a HP ProLiant ML350G4 with 2GB RAM, 2x36GB RAID 1 and
3x72GB RAID 5 connected to a SmartArray 6402 controller. It has an
Adaptec 29160 SCSI controller where an HP Ultrium 448 tape drive is

All parts have the latest BIOS / Firmware / Drivers.

In the "SYS:\ETC\SMS\TSA.CFG", the following is set:

Read Threads Per Job 1
Cache Memory Threshold 2

During the backup, the CPU usage raise over 95% and we get the
following message from the server:

CPU Utilization-0 on server SERVER is in a BAD State, Please Check the


I monitored the threads and NLMs during the backup. It seems that the
following NLM is consuming all CPU time:

VxNDMP_8e0eb8a0 delayed NDMPD.NLM

In the Veritas forum, I didn't received any answer.

Any ideas ?
