I am running ArcServe r11.1 on NetWare 6.5 SP4 in China. My server was
bought in China, but when I installed NetWare, I installed it with the
US codepage. I also installed the English version of ArcServe.

My users have folders and files on the servers that they named using
Chinese characters. On a Chinese windows machine, they can see the
characters fine. When viewing the folders from an English Windows
system, we see something along the lines of -++-p+-+. When
viewing the files and folders that are backed up in ArcServe, I see
something along the lines of ++|--+|--|-+.

For my computer (running English OS), I have installed Novell client with "Use UTF8 encoding and NCPs" set to on.

What I would like to do is have ArcServe backup all the files and
folders with the Chinese names, not the weird looking names. I was
reading through this TID
and I'm wondering if this is something I need to do, but I'm not sure,
since it talks about SP2 and I already have SP4 on my server.

Is there anything I need to do to the server so that it will store the
characters as the Chinese characters? Is there anything special I need
to turn on for it to use UTF-8 or Unicode? Should I set the server to
use the Chinese codepage instead of the US codepage?

Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in
