We've been using OFM from St. Bernard for traditional volumes with pretty good success and have had poor results from it on NSS volumes. Novell has suggested File Copy on Write and using Snapshot pools (pardon my jargon if it's incorrect). We're using NSS volumes on our NetWare 6.5 servers.

In the past, whenever we sent a coredump to Novell for analysis, they would bark at the OFM product found in memory, commenting on it's "dirty hooks". We're trying to get away from OFM for this reason.

What is your experience with File Copy on Write? Good/bad? Any gotchas?

Would you recommend doing something else?

We run a rather huge backup process and want to keep this as streamlined as possible.
