We are running NW 6 SP5, Veritas BE 8.5, Dell PV-100T-DDS4 on a PE 2500
with an add in Adaptec 39160. Every once in a while we recieve an error
stating:

"Error on HA:2 ID:6 LUN:0 DELL PV-100T-DDS4

Posible corrective actions for this error are:
1. Use a different tap
2. Ceck the SCSI cabling

Vendor DELL
Product: PV-100T-DDS4
ID: ??
Firmware: 8250
Function: Mount (19)
Error: Reset(8)

Sense Data:
70 00 06 00 - 00 00 00 0a - 00 00 00 00 - 29 00 00 00
00 00 00 00 - 00 00 00 00 - 00 00 00 00 - 00 00 00 00"

It also says the drive is in need of routine cleaning.

Troubleshooting Steps
1. In the past we contacted Dell and they have replaced the Motherboard
w/ integrated SCSI/RAID controller, tape drive and cable. - fixed issue
for a while

2. Tried different tapes - no change

3. Tried upgrading BE to latest version - no change

4. They also told me to turn down the sync speed on the contoller for the
ID the tape is attached to from 160 to 10. - no change

5. They stated that we should not run the tape drive on the integrated
controller since it also has RAID. We then purchased the 39160 about a
month ago and this is the first time the issue has appeared since. -
Fixed issue for a while

6. Drivers - ADPT160M.HAM 159,437 11/19/03, ADPT160M.DDI 7,359
7/2/04 - Need to update?

I think it is a HW isssue but not sure why this keeps happening. Any
advise is greatly appreciated.
