My backup software is taking seven 400GB tapes to backup 3GB of data.
They are reading full WAY before they should. Tape drives are new and
clean, all media is new. The only explaination for this is SCSI errors
which lead to an 'logical end of tape' message. The recommendation is
search system logs for SCSI errors occuring at about the time the 'end of
tape' error occurs. Where would SCSI errors get logged to? I don't see
any errors in sys:system\sys$log.err. Anywhere else to look? Health
logs don't offer anything...
