I have been task to upgrade our current single NetWare 6.5 SP3 server to a 2 server cluster in order to increase stability. I understand I can either use with a FO SAN (like the MSA1000) or an ISCSI server.

I am new to the whole SAN environment.

On a typical NetWare server, the volumes are mounted using directly attached drives, therefore, the server itself requires sufficient memory to handle the disk caching based on the volume size. But in a SAN solution, which server requires the memory? Does the server in the cluster require the disk caching memory or does the SAN server require it?
