Feeling like an idiot right now...

Netware 6.5 box. NSS volume. Most current backup is a month old.

User system hung this morning while processing a 42 meg database file on
our accounting system. For some reason, it overwrote the file with a new
one that has a 0 byte size.

I went to salvage the previous version of the file and it isn't there.

All other salvage files are listed and salvage seems to be working

Is there some place that Netware writes a temporary file to while it's
waiting for or in the process of overwriting? I'm thinking of the old
dos way where dos would overwrite the first letter of the filename but it
was still on the volume.

Any help would be much appreciated!!!

PS - Feeling heavily stressed, pissed at myself and possibly unemployed...
