I have a conundrum where we have to move a truckload of data across a
very thin wire in a very short timeframe.

We are looking at many options to solve the issue and one option that
came up was to perform a block level backup of the NetWare volumes at
the source site and restore it at the target site.

The volumes are on a SAN so we do have the ability to connect another
server to the SAN and see the LUNs that hold the volumes (obviously not
a Windows server as we know that they like to take hold of everything
they can find). I was wondering with Linux if it is possible to connect
a server to the SAN and see the physical LUN and back it up at a block
level to tape without having to mount the volume?

Any thoughts/experiences greatly appreciated.
