Client is running NW 6.0.5 on an aging Dell server.

The HD subsystem consists of 2 IDE drives using software mirroring (ick).
Everything is sync'd up.

Today, I had to write a bunch to that server.

First, I copied about 100 megs from a Win98 workstation to that server, and
it seemed to go okay.

Then, I copied 144 megs from a Winxp workstation (4.91 sp2) to that same
spot, and it took over an hour.

When I copied 200 megs back from the server to that XP workstation it look
3-4 minutes.

Okay, where do I start with this one? Is this one of the penalties one pays
for cheap RAID?
