Hello. I am running a 2 node NW 6.5 SP5 cluster attached to an EMC SAN. I
recently updated one node with some post SP5 patches, notably the post-SP5
NSS patch. Several days ago I migrated a data volume onto this node and
everything was fine. This morning it was reported no one could open their
directories on this volume. Checking the server console revealed no error
messages and typing volumes showed the volume was mounted. I attempted to
dismount the data volume by taking the cluster resource offline via Cluster
Mgmt in NRM but nothing happened. I restarted the node which resulted in the
cluster resource going offline. I was then able to bring it up on the the
other node and it was again accessible.

The problem is this: newly created files/directories and file edits which
occurred the day before were gone. This happened even though users reported
they had saved their files and received no error messages when doing so.

My questions are:

1. Has anyone seen this happen before?
2. What can be done to prevent this from happening again?
3. Is there any possiblity these supposedly saved files are retrievable?

I'm hesitant to apply the post-SP5 NSS patch to the other node in case this
was the cause of this problem.
