We have the following problem:

We have a server that cannot mount it's volumes when it is booting.

The problem seems to be in the CPQRAID.HAM driver. See the workaround we
ve found.

There are two tricks to make it working:

1) Method
- Boot the server with server.exe -na -ns
- Then load startup.ncf (uncludes LOAD CPQRAID.HAM SLOT=6)
Then unload CPQRAID.HAM
Then load CPQRAID.HAM
Then manual proces all the load stages.

2)Method
- edit the Startup.ncf like the following example
...............
LOAD CPQRAID.HAM SLOT=6
#########END of HAM DRIVERS#############
LOAD CPQRAID.HAM

The server will boot normal including the volumes. The server will give a
message that it cannot load the module twice but it will fix the mounting
of the volumes.

Machine configuration:

ML530 G0 series
Netware 6.5 + SP5
Installed Proliant sp 7.51
(Volumes) DOS, SYS (TRAD), all other volumes NSS
Smart Array 5300

This problem started after an abend. The server didn't write a an entry in
the abend.log file.

The proliant log viewer says:

Fatal Exception (Number 14, Cause Abend: Page Fault Running Process:
Server 00:7291 EIP: CCCCCCCh)

The smartstart CD gives not any errors on the array. We also checked the
volumes with Portlock StorageManager, but no errors are shown.

Does someone know something about this problem?
