"-Raid5 systems with a small stripe size can also be a problem. Check
the configuration of the disk storage or san. If using a raid system, a
larger stripe size can help performance."

On setting up a new array I can go as large as 512K for the stripe size.
I have a volume that's mostly large video files, and I have that one
set to 512 on the stripe size, and I have a new one that I'm going to be
migrating general data to which is small/medium files, and I had set
that to 128K. Now I'm wondering if I should go larger.

I'm running an inventory in NORM now to get a feel for what's out there.
I'll post it when it's done.
