I was very disappointed to find this text in the EULA for the
novell-client rpm...

:: quote ::
License Grant. Subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement,
Novell grants You a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to reproduce
and internally use the Software only in connection with validly licensed
copies of Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise Server products, Novell Linux
Desktop products or Novell Open Enterprise Server products. You may not
redistribute the Software.
:: end quote ::

How does this get people and organizations around the issues of vendor
lock in? I can see not supporting a client install on a non-novell linux
distro -- but to make even running it a violation of the EULA seems
counter productive...

Does anybody besides the lawyers at novell read the stuff the lawyers
put out? or is novell evil *chuckle*
