User receives error message during login: “The system could not log you
into the network. Make sure your name and connection information are
correct, then type your password again. Select the Workstation Only check
box to login to the local workstation.” The user logs into the local
workstation. The backup utility initiates at login and backs up data from
the local hard drive to the server, which it can see even though the
network login failed. Once logged into the local workstation, the user
can successfully login to the network using the same login name and
password used on the first attempt. This is a recent development and
does not happen every time the user attempts to login to the network;
however, the problem exists when the user attempts to login from other
workstations running various versions of the Novell client and Windows
XP. Any suggestions?
