I've run into a problem recently, and it only happens on select
workstations, so I have yet to narrow the issue down.

On some clients (4.90 and 4.91), I cannot detect the tree when the Novell
client logon window appears; i.e., the tree cannot be located, even if
trying to browse to it.

Additionally, I can "sometimes" get those clients to login if a specify a
server, but that's not always the case. In any event, I'm getting a lot
of "Tree or Server could not be found" errors.

I can specify the server's IP address, and then the client appears to log
on without any problems.

We have been in the process of migrating to a pure IP environment, so some
clients still have IPX on them... I recently removed IPX from some of the
login servers, and that's when the errors started happening.

So, in a nutshell, mostly 4.9x clients, some with IP only and some with
IP/IPX (IP preferred). Some login without any problems, but some need to
specify IP address of server...

Where do I begin troubleshooting this?
