Howdy, y'all; we've been having problems with XP Pro PCs running the
Client 4.83SP3. Still seeing the error message "Tree or server not found"
when attempting to log in.
Novell's "Guide To NetWare 5 Networks" says (on pg. 1355) that "If you do
not use IPX Compatibility Mode . . . or if you are not planning on using
SLP for NDS tree or server discovery, then SLP does not need to be enabled
for your IP network."
We're switching to IP, but seem to be having trouble with SLP. How can I
disable SLP and use only NDS to authenticate to a server in a small
network of ~10 PCs, a single NW file server, and a few printers?
