Often enough folks using 5.1 have both native IP and IPX running --
though they might well be running Client 32 in IPX only mode...

Fair point on queued printing -- but I thought (been a while) that you
could deploy Iprint on a 5.1 server.

But it was not included. It was an addon product you had to buy.

Ah -- OK, like NFA. Fair enough, that means that if one had the
standard version of 5.1, no more printer support with the Vista client.

So this is one of those situations where folks are better off with NW
6.0 even though it fell off support before 5.1.

I mentioned IPX mostly because most folks who are running 5.x are also still
hanging onto old jetdirects that are IPX only, and being feed from queues.
When they start moving to Vista, things are gonna get 'spensive, 'round
    here.......

I hear you on that. The Jet directs I have all support IP.

I wonder if the push from early adopters for Vista (at least for 64
bit) may moderate somewhat once folks find out that their MAPS
subscription entitlement only includes the 32 bit Vista Business
upgrade DVD. And it only upgrades Windows XP 32 bit of course.

The only version that is available with volume licensing is Business; the
only version available under SA is Enterprise....
The others are FPP and OEM only. hose who think they're gonna get Ultimate
for their business desktop are in for a $400 rude awakening......

Understood -- but wasn't it cool that Microsoft did the multiple
    seeding with RC1 Ultimate? <smile>.

Actually, for the MAPS, I understand that Ultimate wouldn't be in the
mix, but upgrade Business 32 bit *only*. That is the sort of marketing
and consulting development approach that seems so so Reddish...
