I have a Thinkpad T42 that is dropping connections to Netware servers
at random times, but typically 10 to 20 times per day. Usually after a
few minutes it will reconnect on its own, but sometimes a re-boot is
required. I have drives mapped on two servers, but usually it loses
connection to only one of two servers at a time. After the connection
drops, drive mappings remain, but trying to browse results in
'connection not available' or similar. I've tried connecting to
several LAN switches and via wireless in our office - same problem.
The problem does not occur when connected via VPN.

Running XP with client 4.91 SP3. I have updated the LAN drivers (Intel
PRO/1000 MT) to the latest version from IBM's web site. I rebuilt the
OS and no change was observed. I tried reverting to an older Netware
client. The system was returned to IBM and the system board replaced
under warranty (twice) with no change of the symptoms. IBM now says
it's a software problem and they don't support Novell client.

I'm at my wit's end with this thing. Any ideas would be most
