I know that it is not recommended, but I think that I have no
choice but to move to a private heartbeat LAN. Our
networking people have been doing experiments with
an intrusion detection system which had brought our
cluster down several times. Even without that, our campus
network is being upgraded which will lead to a number of interruptions
over the next 6-9 months.

What disturbs me are the TIDs that say that I will not be able
to see the status of the cluster or control the cluster through ConsoleOne
after moving to a private LAN - except from a PC on that LAN.

Will I still be able to see the status of the cluster from iManager
running off one of the servers in the cluster? I would think so. If this
is so, I believe I can live with this limitation.

Thanks in advance,
