I'm venturing into the SAN & clustering world for the first time and
would appreciate any advice you can give me. I'm trying to keep the cost
down while still providing a stable solution. I have almost 500 users on
Netware 6.5sp5 for GroupWise 7 and File/Print services. I'm out of
storage and I would like to add some redundancy, especially for GW.

I'm looking at purchasing 3 HP DL380 G4 servers running NW6.5 sp5. Using
iSCSI to create a SAN on a dedicated LAN running GB Ethernet. One of the
servers would be maxed out with 15,000rpm drives to act as the storage
device (Target), the other two servers clustered, each with two mirrored
drives (Initiators). Both initiators would be beefy enough to support my
GW domains and post offices, as well as File/Print services.

I will be backing all of this up with Veritas Backup Exec 9x from a
fourth server attached to the dedicated LAN.

Is this a reasonable setup and will I need special NIC's for iSCSI? What
else am I missing??
