We are currently running W2K3 with DFS (Distributed File System). If you
write a file to server1, it immediatly replicates this to the other servers.
Similarily if you delete a file from server2, it then deletes the file from
the rest of the servers. The theory is perfect. However, as you probably
guesed from a Windows solution it aint reliable and Novell client takes ages
to authenticate to the DFS.
Initially I need to speed up access to the DFS, does anyone know of any
tuning tips, aparently this is a known problem?
Longer term I need to get rid of the Windows DFS and replace it with a
reliable Novell solution. What products are available from Novell, bearing
in mind zero budget for a SAN. I simply want to replicate the windows DFS.
