We are trying to set-up a 2 node NCS cluster with IBM xseries 345 (x86)
servers. We've got a shared storage coming from a SAN (IBM DS8K).
The config. is as follows:

H/W : 2 IBM xseries 345 servers (32 bit)

OS : Novell OES SP2 (based on SLES 9 SP3)

Kernel : 2.6.5-7.282-smp

Clustering : Novell Cluster services v1.8.2

Storage : IBM DS8K

Multipathing solution : DM-MPIO (multipath-tools-0.4.5-0.11 userspace tool)

# of paths/disk : 2

We want to use Dm-MPIO as our multipathing solution. We've assigned one
shared LUN (2 GB) from the shared storage to both our hosts.

Now when we try to create the SBD partition on it, we get the following errors:

$>sbdutil -c -d /dev/disk/by-name/36005076303ffc068000000000000114f
evms_get_object_handle_for_name: No such file or directory

Of course, that device is there as proven by o/p output below:

Any help will greatly be appreciated to resolve this issue.

Thanks & Regards,
$> ls -ltr /dev/disk/by-name/

Our /etc/evms.conf has the following includes/excludes under the
sysfs_device section (for 2.6 kernel section) :

include = [ * ]

exclude = [ sd? ]
