Fairly new OES Linux cluster (OESSP2) - everything is working well in
regards to services but we are seeing issues with the NSS clustered
volumes. Everything is setup for clustering, but I am seeing odd things
on failover to another node. In particular, there is one volume resource
that seems to be a problem most often, but I am seeing errors show up
in /var/log/novell/ncpserv.log on just about every NSS volume failover or
migration to another node - even if the event is successful.

On the one problem volume, when I see many of these errors (below), it
goes into a comatose state and just hangs. In particular, it seems to
fail most times at the "ncpcon bind" part of the script (as viewed in the
log). Again, this is completely random and I cannot find any rhyme or
reason. It will sometimes work 5-6 times in a row, and then all of a
sudden fail. In addition, sometimes when it fails, I see the resource IP
address does not unbind on unload which causes additional problems. When
this happens, the only thing we can do is manually remove the virtual
alias address on the node and then offline/online the cluster resource
(frustrating).

I have verified SLP, I have verified the volumes are setup correct, time
sync is in check, eDir health looks good, etc. Anyone else seeing this
stuff in an OES Linux cluster? Below are some of the errors seen in the
ncpserv.log, which BTW - below are errors that presented themself even
when the volumes migrated over and loaded successfully:
