We have been having several issues with our Palm Tungsten E2 PDA end users. We set them up on GroupWise Mobile Server and their palms work great for awhile. Then they tend to stop synchronizing the calendar events. This is when we get the calls. When our Techs try to trouble shoot the issue they end up wiping the palm clean (lose all data on the palm).

Doing research on these issues I ran across the Novell TID #3620170 (see below) Does this TID mean that GroupWise Mobile Server will no longer support Palms via cradle or USB cable? IF that is the case the GMS would be like the a BES device and only support smart phones.

Should we be using a different third part application to synchronize Palm PDAs with GroupWise?

Customers could be faced with various problems during a synchronization of any mobile device when using the Intellisync client via a cradle or any USB device.
This has been officially announced by the Nokia:
"Our management has decided to remove support for cradled synchronization starting with IMS 8.0.1 (equivalent to GMS 2 sp1) - this means that the users should not synchronize via cradle/USB cable after installing our client on their device. For this reason, any bugs logged for IMS 8.0.0 will be closed as "won't be fixed", because this feature would not be supported in subsequent versions of IMS."

Nokia will still support Activesync for "cradle" sync for Microsoft Devices
