Can someone with [any] anti-virus running on a NW server confirm:

1) iFolder 2.1 running on Netware 6.5
2) Antivirus - Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition 8.x running on
same
iFolder server.
3) A file with a known virus encapsulated within it. However, the
file
extension has been renamed. ie: thisisavirus.com.junk
4) Copy a file with a virus to a client with iFolder installed.
Client
sync. iFolder server [or more appropriately, the AV program] doesn't
detect
the virus.
5) Copy above file to the appropriate iFolder directory (or anywhere
else
on the server for that matter) on the server via Explorer or other
mechanism. The antivirus software on the NW server sees a new file
created
on iFolder directory and flags it as a virus.

I do _not_ have my client antivirus setup to scan all files, just
those with
suseptible-prone extensions. I do have the AV server setup to scan
ALL
files.

Seems as though iFolder is bypassing the normal "APIs", if you will,
that
the antivirus (again, on the NW server) should be checking.

Can anyone confirm this?

Thanks, Brian
