Hello all

I will try my luck here. No one never answers in the #ifolder IRC,
despite a certain number of devs there.

Premise:
--------
- Problem is client side. Server OES linux hosting the ifolder is fine.
- Problem is true for current ifolder3 release, and for the latest SVN
checkout.
- The problem only affects 1 user (me of course), and not any others on
the same client system.
- It is a simias issue.
- Examples below are from the stable release on www.ifolder.com, built
from source.
- It used to work :'(

When i try to launch ifolder as myself, the Simias-server.exe fails to
launch, as represented in the following strace:

================================================== =====================
`--> strace -e trace=network mono /usr/local/bin/SimiasServer.exe
socket(PF_FILE, SOCK_STREAM, 0) = 5
connect(5, {sa_family=AF_FILE, path="/var/run/nscd/socket"}, 110) = -1
ENOENT (No such file or directory)
socket(PF_FILE, SOCK_STREAM, 0) = 5
connect(5, {sa_family=AF_FILE, path="/var/run/nscd/socket"}, 110) = -1
ENOENT (No such file or directory)

A simpler look would be to launch 'ifolder' from the command line

1: from the user that doesn't work
==================================
SimiasApp
Listening on port: 8086
Listening on address: 0.0.0.0
Root directory: /usr/local/bin
Hit Return to stop the server.
Simias Application Path: /usr/local/web/bin

------ http://localhost:8086/simias10/Simias.asmx is BLANK -----

2: One(s) that work
===================
SimiasApp
Listening on port: 8086
Listening on address: 0.0.0.0
Root directory: /usr/local/bin
Hit Return to stop the server.
Simias Application Path: /usr/local/web/bin
Simias Process Starting
Simias Process Running

What I have tried:
------------------
- Many ifolder client version. Doesn't matter.
- Launch the app as other users --> SUCCESS. It's only me :/
- rm -rf ~/.wapi and ~/.local --> doesn't change a thing
- Track down why the simias server wouldn't start, but now I am just
stuck.
- suid the .exe (oh well) --> nothing changed

I am also looking on the nautilus side. With the other users, the
nautilus-plugin works, with mine, it doesn't... anymore.

Any ideas? :)

Thanks

fred

PS: totally unrelated subject, have you guys seen any benchmark
comparing NSS vs ZFS?
