Hello
Our Enviroment
Netware 6.5SP2
Imanager 2.02
Clients
WinXPSP2 (German)
Win2KSP4 (German)
WIN98SE SP98(just kidding) (German)
Iprint Client 3.11

We have follwing wired problem:
When we create a printer dirver problem under Winxp or under WIN2K we no
problems, btw the new printer driver profile is a realy funtastic feature,
if it works ;-)
But when we try to create a driver profile under WIN98SE it never works,
detailed steps follow:
1.) running Imanger under WIN98SE withe Internet Eplorer 6.1SP??
2.) create a printer driver profile
3.) changing some settings in the driver profile
NOTE : Sometimes no every tab from the driver Profile is visibile with
Imanager and WIN98SE
4.) save the created profile
5.) associate the driver profile to the desired printer
6.) when now installing the printer on the worksstation through iprint, or
reviewing the profile under imanager (change profile) all settings in the
diver profile are default values.

This is not affected to special printer divers, this error accour with every
printer diver under WIN98

But i finaly found a way to solve that problem, but it is more a hack than a
good solution
I do foolwing:
1.) running Imanger under WIN98SE withe Internet Eplorer 6.1SP??
2.) create a printer driver profile
3.) changing only ONE SETTING (this is realy important) in the driver
profile
4.) save the profile
now comes the funny part
5.) DELETE the newly created Profile
6.) repeat steps 1 to 5 till every nessecary profile setting is changed
you will then notice, that every time, after the profile was deleted and new
created, the further made profile changes are already in the "new" driver
profile.
7.) when last change is done, then associate the profile to the printer
8.) when now installing the printer through iprint on a WIN98SE workstation
alle Profile setting are correct.

So i realy don't know why this happens as it works without any problems
under win2k and winxp so i can only guess that it is affecedt with win98.

Maybe someone else noticed this error or has a better solution than mine

best regards
Ufuk Altinkanyka

btw.
is this forum the right place for that error ? or do i better post in the
netware 6.x forum ?
