I recently became aware that the default implementation of iPrint does not enforce the user security by default unless SSL is enabled. I have since enabled SSL and been able to secure printer access, however this requires each user to authenticate when a printer is installed. This is a problem as we are using Zen to install our printers as a user logs in.

My question is this; Is there a way to secure iPrint so that it enforces user access as set up in iManager, but does not prompt a user to authenticate when the printer is installed or they print to it? Just reading through the documentation it appears that NW 6.5 may do this with LDAP. However, we're at NW6 and don't plan an upgrade in the near future.

Any help is appreciated.
