Hello,
We are converting our HP Printer Gateway to Novell Printer Gateway.
I have a question concerning the Novell Printer Gateway. Presently we are use the HP Printer Gateway and we can look at the Windows printer dialog box and see the status of the printer and know if it is Low on Toner or has a Paper Jam or Media Input supply is empty. However if We change to the Novell Printer Gateway this printer status display is not updated. It always displays the status as READY. The only time the status changes is if the printer agent is Printing, Paused, or Shutdown. The funny think is that on the Server NDPS Manager screen it displays the following:
Printer Status and Control: Idle
Status Details: Subunit Almost Empty
>Associated Message: ORDER CARTRIDGE LESS THAN 200 PAGES

We check the printer agent in iManager and it displays:
Display Panel: Order Cartridge
Printer Status: Idle (Subunit Almost Empty: ORDER CARTRIDGE LESS THAN 200 PAGES)
Printer Health Monitor displays the same message as above.

We have Netware 6.5 sp2 two node cluster with iPrint/NDPS running as a cluster resource.
NDPSM 3.01.09
NDPSGW 3.01
IPPSRVR 4.00
HPGATE 3.00.01

Workstation is using NDPS and iPrint
Windows XPsp2
Novell Client 49sp2 w/NDPS
Zfd 6.5.0.4
iPrint Client 3.09

The printer is a HP 2300dn
old HPGateWay
HPGATE ADDRESS=10.5.1.14:9100 PORT=1 SAP=0 STATEUPDATE_NP=900 STATEUPDATE_P=10 MODUPDATE=1440 /TIMEOUT_CJ=50 SNMPTIMEOUT=0 EJM=0 OVERRIDE

new Novell GateWay
NDPSGW LPR HOSTADDRESS=10.5.1.14 PRINTERNAME=PASSTHROUGH

I have tried PRINTERNAME=raw to utilize port 9100 but same result; Windows printer dialog does not get printer status messages.

Thanks
Mike Garcia
