I have a dilema that I'm hoping that someone can help me with. I want to start using VLAN's to segment my network into smaller pieces. The problem is that we use laptop carts and they have a printer on the cart that could be plugged into any of 3 VLAN's. I configured the printer for DHCP and setup DDNS. The issue is that the print manager NDPSM uses ping to determine if the printer is available. When the printers ip address changes and updated DDNS, the manager doesn't see this change until I flush the ARP cache on the server.

Shouldn't this happen automatically at some interval for DNS configured printers to be a viable option. Am I missing something?
