We use ip printing (Windows) and queue based and we are testing iPrint to
do away with the print queues. We set up an OES Linux server as our print
server and began testing. Everything worked well until the server "hung"
for lack of a better term, and no one could print. Rebooting corrected the
problem but I'm thinking, how do I create a fault tollerant system? Right
now I have 100+ printers installed and several testers. I don't want one
server to be the single point of failure. What are the "Best Practices"
for this? Multiple servers, multiple print managers? Right now the queues
are on several 6.5 servers so if one goes down printing is not disabled
for the whole company. I can't find any documente that address this?
