History:

When we were running SP4a we had no issues with large LPD print jobs
restarting on us. After we switched to SP5 we would have problems where
large lpd print jobs would randomly restart through the job, sometimes
finishing the job, usually not. We made the change from using the load
line:
NDPSGW LPR HOSTNAME=[X] PRINTERNAME=[X]

to using:
NSPSGW PORT=RAW HOSTNAME=[X]

And it worked just fine.

Once we went to SP6 (f - cause we did have the abbend problems), we went
back to having restart issues. We've

-updated printer firmware
-updated jetdirect firmware
-deleted and recreated the printer agent, both in LPR and RAW
-used "printername=[x] STRICTLPR"

and it still does it. If we bypass the printer agent/server completely
and have the UNIX system print to the printer directly, it works - the
downside to that solution is if a job that is printed automatically (and
we have a few to that printer) is empty (it happens), the print queue on
the UNIX box dies and has to be manually reset.

Any ideas?
