We have been using iPrint for several years (current version is 4.26) to
provide drivers and configurations to Windows XP and Mac OS X clients,
as well as print queue management. Now we have a new print management
system for the labs (GoPrint) that requires Windows Server print queues.

Our initial testing shows that a Windows XP PC with the iPrint client
installed cannot print to _any_ Windows Server print queues. When you
try to print to a printer defined from a Windows Server print queue, you
get an error message about a critical fault in iprntctl.exe and nothing
ever comes out.

I tried every iPrint client version from 4.12 to 4.28, but they all
failed in the same way. The Windows Server printer was installed from
the http://windowsserver/printers Web page, and the printer makes no
reference to iPrint or the iPrint server in its port definitions.

Why is the iPrint client even involved in this operation? Has anyone
else seen this problem? More importantly, does anyone have a solution?
