Hi all,

NFAU (NW6SP3), files created from Unix (checked several versions of
Linux
and Solaris) are created with [supervisor] as the file Owner on
NetWare
side.

We checked with both NSS and TFS, Mounted both with NFS v2 and NFS v3,
and
various combinations of exporting the volume (Root access, Read Write
etc.).

The user creating the files from the unix side has a matching user oneDirectory. We used both UID and uidNumber attributes while testing. On
the
Unix side the owner looks ok (ls -al).

We know the only mapping mode of NFS in NFAU is "Independent". We see
that
"root" account on Unix side is able to modify file/directory
permissions
with no problems.

Not having the correct Owner information seems to be an important
thing on
some sites. If anyone has any ideas of how to make NetWare put the
correct
Owner on newly created files (from Unix) - please share them ...

Many thanks,

Ofer.
