There was discussion about this around May of this year, but we are
just
noticing this issues now. AFP downloads and uploads are very slow. a
5MB
file takes 1 minute to download. We are running at 100Mb Full Duplex.
PC
downloads are fine via either NCP or CIFS. Since having the problem,
we
have upgraded to sp3, afp102d, tcp607jrev2, nw6nss3c, nls603ft, and
nothing
has fixed it. I've tried playing with the amound of threads that are

created, whether or not counting is on. I've also turned on logging
and
nothing seems odd there.

The one very odd thing is that we have a 10.1.5 machine and that seems
to
download files much faster. Take a 50MB file that on a 10.2 machine
takes
22-25 minutes, the 10.1 machine takes about 2 minutes.

Downloads from an actual Appleshare server are very fast. Downloads
from a
Windows Server 2000 are also very fast via AFP. So the complaint in
the
earlier postings about AFP just being slow cannot be the only issue.

So in addition to the patches I mentioned above here is our
environment.
4 Dell 2650 servers fully patched
EMC 4500 SAN fully patched
Netware 6 sp3
Clustering
There are around 15 volumes and all respond the same.

Please help! This is unacceptable. I hate to say this but if
Microsoft
and Apple can get this right, what about Novell.
