After upgrade to NW 6.5 Sp1 (from NW 6), I had a volume that when
mounted
from a OS X 10.2 Mac would not display on the desktop. In OS X 10.3, I
had
the same issue but the volume was listed in the OS X side-bar and,
could be
opened and viewed.

Reverting to the AFPTCP from NW 6 solved the visibility issue so I
knew it
was something odd/new with AFPTCP 2.x. Further investigation revealed
that
someone had at some point set the volume's "hidden" attribute. While
this
caused no problems for PC users or, AFPTCP 1.x users, apparently
AFPTCP 2.x
passes this information on to the OS X client. The OS X finder in turn

honors the attribute by hiding the volume on the Mac.

So, if you have volumes that don't display on the Mac after an upgrade
to NW
6.5, check to make sure the "hidden" attribute is not set on the
Volume in
question.

Best,
Jeff
