Just did an inplace upgrade from NW5.1sp6 (was not running native
file) to
NW6sp3 and added native file services. Users in the building are not
using
the Novell client but using the Microsoft for Novell Networks, they
are
running Win2k and XPpro. The boss doesn't want to run Novell client
because
of the delays it still does when accessing network drives. Anyways,
when a
user in the building logs in they do get their mappings ok, they get
drives
H, J & Z. The user clicks on J and sees the folders, double clicks on
their
H drive and gets an error "configuration information could not be read
from
the domain controller, either because the machine is unavailable, or
access
has been denied." But if they give it a second or two and try again
the
folder opens up. But if they go back to J they get the same error when

accessing H. Its intermittent on all the mapped drive. But if you go
thru
the Microsoft domain and open the files thru native file it seems to
work
ok. Were not ready to have everyone in the building use native file
and we
were not actually planning on it. Mainly just the laptop users that
are
runnning wireless in the building. Is it that you can't map drives the
old
fashioned way and run Native file at the same time? On the console
monitor
there is also an error "DCNCTcpDcncShutdown: PDC Possibly Reset the
Connection -- Shutdown & Reconnect", I see on the forum that I should
just
ignore this, or is that wrong. Also on the monitor, but it didn't come
up as
often, was SessionSetup: PDC and Client SecBlobs out of sync". Any
help is
appreciated, if I can't get this resolved it looks like were going to
dump
NW and migrate to MS, the boss is getting a little impatient trying to
get
the Novell to work. Thanks.
