Whenever I try to save a file from a program (like Word or Photoshop) I
cannot save the file directly to the server space. For example, when I
try to locate the mounted file server space from within word I can see
it. However, I cannot open it up to save to it.

I am using Mac OS 10.3.3 and I have a Novell 6.5 file server with all the
patches installed for Native File Access.
