Our standard windows account for a PC that about to be distributed
is 'cityuser'. Our objective to get the latest Novell Client installed
from a Novell network directory without first installing an older Novell
Client from a CD. Here is what I have tried:

1) Created a new User Object named 'cityuser.COR', and give it Read right
to the directory where we currently keep the latest client.

2) Edited the SYS:\ETC\CIFSCTXS.CFG file on the server running Novell
Native File Access Protocols (there only needs to be one, right?)and made
sure that COR was specified on a separate line in this file.

3) Saved the file in the SYS:\ETC directory.

4) Enterd CIFSSTOP to unload the current context search file.

5) Enterd CIFSSTRT to load the new context search file and apply the

When a local cityuser account is logged in, the system tries to find the
corresponding cityuser.COR User object in the context specified in the
CIFSCTXS.CFG file. However, this does not seem to be happening.

I have also noticed that the NFAP server cannot be pinged by name. Only
IP address. Isn't this a requirement for CIFS to work?

Thank you in advance for your time.
